My decision to opt for a 6 Minute Ab Workout
Being a person who always searches for fast but still effective core workouts, I had to give in to a 6-minute ab workout that went viral and broke the record with more than 16 million views. Six minutes? No equipment? I was in. I unrolled my mat, clicked play, and went through a non-stop sequence of exercises that myself they were targeting their abs all round without any time off.
It wasn’t high-intensity training that stripped me of my breath but it was definitely an exercise that required total core activation, sharpened skills in balance and mental concentration. If you’re sick of old-fashioned crunches and want to feel the kick of a short yet efficient exercise, then this one is for you.
No-Break Structure That Killed My Core
The setup was brutal and really straightforward at the same time. Thirteen different ab exercises, thirty seconds each, with no rest at all between the sets. Only that made it hard. But, the ones that took the core to a whole different level were the great variety of exercises that hit the core from various angles — to the lower abs, obliques, to the stabilizers none of us remember most of the time.

Bicycle Crunch and Leg Lift
This particular move was one swift action that hit the obliques and the lower abs at the same time. Kicking my legs straight through a twist made my waist area stay under pressure from the very beginning.
Jackknife and Jackknife Variation
The first move was similar to a toe-touch and a V-up whereas the variation had an even greater effect — raising and lowering the upper and lower parts of the body at the same time had clear signs of fatigue in my abs.
Crunch Hold
Demonstrated as still and easy, the hold seemed child’s play until the time I left my abs totally in the contracted position for 30 seconds. The burn was real.
Starfish Crunch (Right and Left)
Coordinating opposite hand-to-foot crunches with fully extended limbs needed more than just a solid crunch every time. I found this one a real challenge for my oblique muscles the next day.
Flutter Kicks
This is the Core 101. The constant, fast kicks with the legs held in the air — I experienced acute pain in my lower abs.
Ab Hold with Arm Circles
My expression when doing this exercise was like when you are patting your head and rubbing your stomach — your middle section (abs) is like in a lock position and your hands are doing wide circles. It was a strange feeling… but at the same time, I liked it.
Russian Twist
For more burnt and toned abs, slightly raise your heels off the ground. This is a perfect way to train the muscles that help the body rotate without doing sit-ups.
Plank Crunch-In
By slightly bending the back and pulling the abs inward, it became more like a hollow body hold version than a usual plank.
Spider Plank
Spider planks were more engaging than planks and were also made dynamic by moving the knee out towards the elbow — engaging the abs and the hips as well.
Dolphin Hold
The last move was really tough. It turn out to be dog headstand but on the floor. That was not so hard to do, but my abs were in such a condition that my core was ticklish.
My Experience: What This 6 Minute Ab Workout Actually Felt Like
Okay, without sugar-coating it — this was like the most painful six minutes of my life. Almost all the exercises were done without taking any rest, that is why I felt so drained, particularly around the four-minute mark. I reached the last hold, and I was waiting for every second to pass by, counting it down.
It wasn’t just about attacking the period of time. You had to use the right posture to do these exercises right so you don’t end up with lower back pain. I think I almost need to say that for the lying exercises I shouldn’t let my back off and I should keep my abs tight as if I were going to be hit there all the time.
It was great that this routine made me practice and notice form a lot. Using ah, get what I did there? This three-in-one workout ~holds- crunches- planks~ totally crushes the core. No equipment, no noise, no jumping, no high-impact — just some wellness for your inner soul.
Is a 6 Minute Ab Workout Worth It?
Absolutely — but only if you’re prepared to be fully present. That simply is not enough to burn calories but it’s really effective for your core and for the deep abdominal muscles that are not used regularly by the majority of people. It’s a routine which you will able to be on top of a longer session or to do when you have little time available.
Can it bring you six-pack abs by itself? No congratulations to abs but for the first time after just one round. it will make your body and core get solid. You will say when you feel it.
