
Jonathan Roumie Discusses The Chosen & Future Plans

Jonathan Roumie, who mainly portrayed Jesus in The Chosen, took part in the GMA3 show What You Need to Know to briefly discuss the series. With Season 5 on the way, fans are eager to receive the latest news about the show and Roumie’s current undertakings.
Fanbase of The Chosen Builds Expectation for Season 5
While giving his interview, he also talked about the show’s increasing popularity. The Chosen has acquired the attention of millions of people worldwide. That is why it is one of the most-watched faith-based series ever. Season 5 promises to have more emotional moments, powerful storytelling, and deeper character arcs.
While filming, Roumie tried to tell the truth. “This season is going to be a time when we will feel the closest to the most significant moments in Jesus’ life,” he informed. He gave a small clue about the big scenes, including the Last Supper, that would be the main action.>

Just before that, Roumie live-chatted via Instagram with Chris Pratt. Both of them talked about faith-based storytelling and the growing interest of Hollywood in religious content. Pratt commended on The Chosen, stating that he thought it “one of the most authentic and beautifully produced series” that he has viewed.
Roumie was open in stating that dialogues like this one are among the things that bring the necessary focus for faith-based projects. “People really need to see authentic, impactful narratives in this medium. And we prove that there is an audience as well,” he said.
The 21′ Film Review
Moreover, Roumie took the opportunity to give accolades to The 21, a short animated film which is an honor to 21 Coptic Christians murdered by ISIS in Libya. The film, produced by around 70 artists from all over the world, provides the visually most impressive way of telling the story.
“I am speechless, it’s a fierce reminder of pure faith and sacrifice,” Roumie said. “The shooting of The Chosen is just wonderful you guys should all watch it.”

Prior to the season 5 premiere, the iconic photographer Annie Leibovitz took portraits of the main The Chosen characters. They are unveiled at Times Square and visualize the last season with scenes like a wondrous Last Supper.
Roumie shared that it had been a surreal experience. “Personally, being taken pictures of by the likes of Annie is a real privilege,” he said. “It represents, on the one hand, the fact that we The Chosen are indeed impacting others and, on the other side, it’s a personal confirmation of success.”
Upcoming Appearance on The Tonight Show
Roumie is all set to feature on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on March 18, 2025. He expressed his enthusiasm for the show where he will open up about his role, upcoming projects and personal faith journey.
“Believe it or not, but the dream, that I’m right now living, was this,” he said. “I always wanted to be at Fallon’s show and now the wish is fulfilled! I’m supported by my fans to let the audience know through the segment the information that I have.”
What’s Next for Jonathan Roumie?
Besides The Chosen, Roumie is in the process of putting together more film and television projects. He has let slip a few things and hinted at future partnerships about religion, history and storytelling with a sense of purpose.
“There is much more in the pipelining.” he hinted. “I just want to keep telling stories that inspire and elevate.”
