
William Shatner Talks Possible Star Trek Comeback & TV Success

The 93-year-old actor lately mentioned that he might be in the role of Captain Kirk for an upcoming film. He was also given the Lifetime Achievement Award and he is on the top of ratings with his The UnXplained show on TV.
Could William Shatner Return as Captain Kirk?
At the Fan Expo Vancouver panel on Feb. 21, Shatner left little room for doubt when he hinted that he might come back to Star Trek. He told the crowd that a new writer had given him a pitch that he liked. “I have been asked to return as Kirk so many times,” Shatner claimed. “But if Kirk is going to return, it has to be meaningful.”
Shatner also noted that negotiations with Paramount would take place possibly. While nothing’s settled yet, his words have caused quite a stir among Star Trek fans who so long have been praying for his comeback to the franchise.
Honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award
Shatner was given the honor at the 52nd Annual Saturn Awards when he was presented a Lifetime Achievement Award, a few days before this month draws to a close. In his thank-you speech, he comically asked if this was the cue that he ought to shut down. Nevertheless, based on his busy schedule, it is evident that retirement is far from his mind.
