Having been settled in the same position for over thirty years, “Live with Kelly and Mark” has finally took the decision of moving to a new place. The final release from the historical studio was on the 1st of April 2025, which brought an end to the period that had started in 1988.
This is not where the story ends. The next show episode is going to be filmed in Disney’s new home in Hudson Square, downtown Manhattan. This action thus marked the first change of studio for the show over its 37-year existence.
One Time Source Close to the Cafeteria
Although the finalization of the new studio groundwork is ongoing, the show does not decelerate its pace. In fact, the show will be moved to a temporary place on the 10th floor of the building—right next to the employee cafeteria.
In the meantime, the makeshift studio will last until the new stage is all set to officially open, which is scheduled for the 14th of April, 2025.
Despite the sources from the show stated that the temporary studio location would still have the usual style and energy that the viewers are used to, yet the background is somewhat different. The set would definitely deliver a more engaging and immersive technological experience to the presenters and the audience too.
Presenters Share Their Personal Feelings on the Move
The change in place is a lot more than a change of the scene for the main hosts Kelly Rippa and her husband and co-host Mark Consuelos. The hosts saw it as something really personal.
Through a part of the show, Rippa shared some of the feelings she got from her kids that have been around for most of their time up the Lincoln Square studio. The place they have been holds some really good memories both to the show and the family.
“We’ve created a family life [here],” Ripa said. “We’ve had our weddings, babies, and everything in between here in this building.”
Sentimental Items Picked for the New Studio.
They were allowed to carry one item each from the old set. These things they had to pick to move to the new studio. Those were the instructions given to them by the building owners.
Consuelos had a funny and dear golden retriever dog statue named Sammy. The dog had made part of the set of the show and was there since 1997 and over the years, it even became its kind of mascot.
The Disney Legend Award was Kelly Ripa’s choice, which is a trophy she had received when she was recognized for her work with the family of Disney. She said that it was the most natural thing to bring the figure there because the studio was located in the Disney area.
Both items will be incorporated into the new studio design when it officially goes on air in mid-April.
The Show Is Not Ending—It’s Just Upgrading
After hearing the news of the move, some of the fans on social media were thinking whether that means the show is ending. Still, that is not true at all.
The people in charge of “Live with Kelly and Mark” have been emphatic about it: it will still be their show. The shift is just a part of the show’s organic progress, as it follows its audience in the same manner it evolves.
According to the production team, the aim is to preserve the successful aspects of the show, such as the relaxed talks, guest interviews, and audience involvement while the location is renovated to better fit today’s television standards.
What’s the Next Move for Kelly and Mark?
After more than a year of co-hosting The Live with Kelly and Ryan show together, Kelly and Mark show a great deal of trust even than ever. The audience is curious about how they will present their vibrant personalities and fashion sense in the different summer style.
Ripa remains one of the most veteran daytime talk show hosts on U.S. television. With this move, she and Mark will be front-running the program into an uncharted territory that brings together the best of the new and old.
April 14 is the debut day of the brand-new studio. Meanwhile, people are free for now to enjoy TV shows that are freshly recorded in the temporary studio, and look forward to seeing which parts of the old set will be brought to the new one.
