KISS Band Goes Digital: Iconic Rock Band Set to Launch Avatar Concerts in 2027
by Amiya Nandy in News, Entertainment on March 24, 2025KISS, the legendary band, is not ready to let the rock and roll reign end even after more than five decades. Rather than retiring from the stage altogether the band is just planning to alter its performances impinging on a new approach.
The demise of KISS as announced in their farewell tour last December was merely an official act; the spirit of KISS is alive. KISS, in the light of the most recent move that nobody has seen coming, has informed the fans and the media that their comeback performance will consist of them being digital avatars for one-of-a-kind virtual concerts. The first shows will be launched in Las Vegas by 2027, signaling the next era of live entertainment.
From Arena Stages to Digital Worlds
KISS has always been a band that is representative of open fire shows, stage designs with platform boots, and wordless face paint. The plan is to enchant the audience in the same way it was done before they are just going to make use of state-of-the-art motion capture, holograms, and artificial intelligence. During the concert, each member will be presented as a realistic avatar, which was created to capture even the smallest details of their looks and manners of performance.
The fantastic digital enterprise is sponsored by Swedish entertainment company Pophouse, a co-founded enterprise by ABBA’s Björn Ulvaeus. Pophouse has already made the successful ABBA Voyage hologram concert in London and KISS’s is the one that they plan to ensure to reach the same level. TheSwedes are determined and ready to suffocate every obstacle.
Kiss, in 2024, sold control over their music piece assets, recognizable images and brand to Pophous&’s for a total amount equal to $300 million. It is an alliance that has allowed the band to extend their music for a longer period, in fact, they will be remembered by the others after their retirement.
What Fans Can Expect
The digital KISS experience will be an exclusive residency set to take place in Las Vegas by 2027. This show will combine real-world venues with virtual performance elements unveiling a blur of the virtual and the real making it irresistible for both fans and new audiences.
The avatars displayed themselves for the first time during KISS’s final farewell performance in New York City in 2023, thereby giving the info about the future aspects. The band’s goal? To give the same top-level performance without the physical demands of touring.
“We’re immortal now,” Gene Simmons recalled in a past interview. “This way we can do what KISS was set to do — to perform — even if we are not on the stage by ourselves.”
KISS Members Stay Busy
As the band makes its way to the digital world, the original members plunge into a series of engagements. Gene Simmons who announced the tour advertised for solo on March 2, 2025 in Toms River, New Jersey noted that the original date was postponed till the beginning of May because of the frenzy of activities he was absorbed in. Simmons is the one who assures the fans that they will have a memorable experience — the show will include hits from the good-old times of KISS and a particular moment including a VIP package that will make one fan a star for a day.
Paul Stanley, although in a wink-and-nod style, has suggested that new creative projects are likely to be released soon. However, as of now, no official announcement has been made yet.
A New Generation of KISS?
So the future of KISS, in fact, might also be in the hands of the new bloods. Nick Simmons (Gene’s son) and Evan Stanley (Paul’s son) recently announced on social media that they are in the process of designing the music album that is even made up of a bunch of songs, one of which arose from a writing session. It seems like the fans are keen on the music and ask if the boys of KISS legends would be keeping the torch burning.
KISS Isn’t Done Yet
By having done all those selling-out tours and processed tons of albums along with a grand farewell, KISS is not letting up on the road at all. By entering the metaverse, KISS keeps recording and establishing their music presence not just as the pioneers but also as the stars who are totally getting rejuvenated in the digital world.
Be it that you are one of the oldest supporters of KISS or you find them anew, the coming years pledge something one-of-a-kind, familiar, and ahead of its time – all clad in black leather and silver studs.
