Yet again, Mac DeMarco is getting features in the news. Early this Monday, the Canadian indie musician confirmed that he was ready to put out a new album in August 2025. In addition to the album, the tour schedule also was released for the upcoming international tour which is slated for a later start of the year.
DeMarco has not had a big album out since 2023 when he dropped Five Easy Hot Dogs and the huge 199-track compilation One Wayne G.
Debut Album will be out in August
A while back, in a piece in Pitchfork, DeMarco disclosed that his new album will indeed hit the shelves in August. Although the singer did not mention the title of the album or the tracklist, he went further to give a hint that this latest project would be a turning point in his creativity.
The loyal fans of DeMarco have been waiting in anticipation for the artist’s next studio album. In the time after his 2023 outputs, the musician has opted for relatively low-key and not-so-frequent visits to the media. Still, there have been no doubts about his staying in the business. “I’ve got a new idea for another album. It’s going to be good,” he previously expressed to Exclaim.

It was together with the new album info that DeMarco embarked on an immense world tour that kicks off on August 29, 2025 at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

Mac DeMarco’s Comeback Era?
DeMarco was always known for his airy work and weird charisma. Throughout the years, he has gained a solid group of followers who have been touched by his songs’ depth and his original and innovative sounds.
Finishing the upload of a 199-track album in 2023, people had been asking themselves what the singer would do next. Some even went so far as to think he was going to retire. But this recent announcement has dispelled those talks.
The globe is now eagerly waiting for the new album and his performances, so in a way, we can say Mac DeMarco has gone full circle and is all set to reclaim his throne at the top.
