A Joyful Return at Hulu’s Pride Celebration
On Friday night, Bomer lit up the rooftop of NeueHouse Hollywood at a Pride event hosted by Hulu and Los Angeles Magazine.
He laughed and chatted with his fellow actors of the show he will star in, Mid-Century Modern, including Nathan Lane and Nathan Lee Graham, in a festivity that was dedicated to the LGBTQ+ community and their visibility.
People who saw him there called Bomer “relaxed” and “truly happy”, as he was seen doing photos and talking to others. This event was memorable for fans especially because Bomer was not just there, he was holding the limelight fully in the Pride month after going through the dark days of Hollywood for a long time.

But just days before the celebration, Bomer gave a revealing interview where he finally addressed the long-standing silence about how his coming out story was stolen from him. Speaking with Out magazine, he recalled how gossip blogger Perez Hilton outed him years ago — before Bomer had the chance to tell his own story.
“It felt like someone had taken away my ability to define myself,” Bomer admitted. “They made me feel like I didn’t get a say in how the world saw me.”
That instant was almost one of the turning points in his career, but suddenly not in the way the critics were expecting it to be. Bomer, however, came forward and bought out the real, sincere side of himself, mainly in characters, the stories of which were about the quest of self-identity, love, and struggle.
Turning Pain Into Purpose
Bomer didn’t dwell on anger. Instead, he focused on the growth that came from those early days in the spotlight. He has since become a quiet advocate for authenticity in Hollywood, working with younger actors and supporting inclusive storytelling both on and off-screen.
Now, with Mid-Century Modern set to debut later this year and Bomer continuing to choose roles that align with his values, he seems ready to rewrite his own narrative — this time on his terms.
