Viewers of Netflix’s show, “Million Dollar Secret” were absolutely taken aback by the unexpected turn of events that ended the show. Who took the victory? It was none other than a lowly cook at In-N-Out Burger by the name of Cara Kies. She walked away with the whole $1 million prize—clearly, she had tricked everyone in the house—only to them, of course.
The highlight of the new reality program, which came out at the start of this year, was the desire to know who was the ultimate unconscious owner of the box that was worth a million dollars?
It was a game of life for the twelve warders of the Key. A house named The Stag was the place where the contestants inhabited. The players had their boxes, every box of which except one was a decoy, obviously. Well, only one did contain the real money. The one who had the money had to keep it a secret. If the rest got to know, they could vote him/her out. But if the rest didn’t find out by the end of the time, the money stayed with the holder.
The task turned out to be like taking candy from a baby for Cara Kies.
Who Is Cara Kies?
A 29-year-old line cook is Cara Kies from Los Angeles. She works at In-N-Out Burger and is content living with her husband and kin.
It was Cara instantly from the start. Unnoticed she went and kept a low-profile game. Other than being silent, she allowed others to talk, argue, bond, and create alliances. The Leandra drama could be seen piercing through the walls in the mansion, however, Cara was not moved by that.
Although she was quiet, there was intellect about her.
How She Fooled the Entire House
Cara was in a comfortable position as she had the $1 million in her box from the very start and nobody interrogated her.
Cara later on in the program told that the one thing she is truly proud of is presenting herself with a fake family context to create confusion among her housemates. She was replied to that, when people questioned her about her personal life, the suitability of her information did not arise.
Her game plan was also a part of the house challenges. In an episode, several participants had to pass through a laser beam maze with no mistakes, if they wanted to have the privilege to inspect the others’ boxes. Cara Feldman intentionally lost the challenge and faked her struggle to make sure she didn’t become the center of attention.
Even her closest friend, Corey, had no idea that she was responsible for it all.
A Quiet Winner with a Big Plan
In the final decision, everyone was onto someone else, but Cara was the only one who knew the rules of the game. The participating people got the idea that they had the game finally mastered. Nevertheless, Cara’s exposing of her box with $1 million in full shocked everyone.
However, after the cameras were turned off, Cara still didn’t make it public. She went back to the In-N-Out and waited until the finale was broadcast that people came to know about it.
When she had a chance to talk after the show, she said that her intention is to keep her family satisfied with the money. ‘I’m saving the money going to help my family. The sum of the money is very significant for us,’ Marie Claire was told by the lady. And still, she never gives up her personality. This is her identity,” she says.
A New Kind of Reality Game
The Million Dollar Secret was regarded as an outstanding innovation with an original concept. Unlike conventional programs that compensate achievement or influence popularity, this one rewarded silence, control, and fraud.
Despite the short run of the show, consisting of only eight episodes, the rumors about the next season of Million Dollar Secret, have been there since the beginning of the finale’s resonance.
Critics have mentioned The Mole and Big Brother as two of the series that this program resembles. However, the setup is very modern and feels fresh. No need for challenges or eliminations, just a house full of secrets and one player striving not to lose everything.
Where to Watch
All eight chapters of Million Dollar Secret are indeed released and available to watch on Netflix in the U.S.
Cara Kies is now not only the new winner of Million Dollar Secret but some are also calling her the most surprising reality winner of the year. Her calm and down-to-earth approach to the game made the triumph a more human story than it usually is.
Just a little reminder, being silent is also a smart move in a game. There are situations where nobody wants to be violent or even arguing.
