In a shocking announcement taken from out of the time capsule, heavy metal maestros are marked to make a reappearance for a closing act in Birmingham, England.

Taking place on 5th July, 2025, the original band, Black Sabbath, will hold their very last concert, which they will call “Back To The Beginning”, where world-renowned musicians Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward will unite in a once-in-a-lifetime experience for fans to catch live… for the very last time.

For Black Sabbath, this outdoor performance in Villa Park is sure to mark their position in heavy metal history by pulling in the original members after 20 years.

Along with an extreme dose of nostalgic energy, this epic promissory performance will be the first time live for all the members to attend, with headlining audiences from Slayer, Metallica, Pantera, and many more.

Ozzy Osbourne on the Final Show

Despite being 76, Ozzy Osbourne, otherwise labeled as the “Prince of Darkness”, commented on the announcement saying:

💬 “This is something I’ve wanted for years, and now it’s finally happening. This is our chance to give back to the fans who have been with us from the start. This show is going to be unforgettable.”

Proceeds from the concert will go toward charity funds, raising awareness for:

  • Parkinson’s Foundation
  • Birmingham Children’s Hospital
  • Acorns Children’s Hospice

Ozzy Osbourne’s Health Challenges and His Drive to Perform

Ozzy Osbourne’s health challenges are quite well known, as he has been dealing with Parkinson’s in recent years.

Although he seems excited for the show, his mobility has worsened over the years, and his wife, Sharon Osbourne, recently disclosed that Ozzy is finding it quite difficult to walk.

However, he is working hard to ensure he performs the way he believes Black Sabbath deserves to be honored.

In an emotional chat, Ozzy reassured fans that while his body is failing him, his voice is stronger than ever:

💬 “I can’t do much physically, but I can still sing my heart out. This show is my way of saying thank you to all the fans who have supported me during all these decades.”

His final performance alongside bandmates has shocked many people; however, his outpouring of support is encouraging. He has received immense support from fans all around the globe.

Controversy Over High Ticket Prices

Fans have exhibited differing views towards the prices set for tickets for Black Sabbath’s farewell show, as excitement mounts for the event.

  • The price tag of pre-sold tickets, which was set between £197.50 and £834 ($250 – $1,050), drew criticism.
  • Many fans took to social media to voice their displeasure.
  • Some fans name-called the prices, referring to them as “outrageous” and “a crime”.
  • They feel that a band making a farewell show does not need to rip off loyal followers who have been with them for over five decades.

The event organizers have also been dragged into the mess.

  • They have defended the pricing of the tickets, stating that:
    • The concert will have guest performances.
    • There are production costs relating to charity at the event.
    • These factors are all factored into the pricing.

However, the controversy over pre-sale tickets has not affected the demand, as the tickets sold out in minutes.

A Defining Moment for Heavy Metal

The farewell concert by Black Sabbath is tipped to be the last of its kind for heavy metal music, marking a significant shift in the culture.

  • Since the band’s formation in 1968, they have been one of the first top acts in the genre.
  • They set the foundation for other artists to follow.

This final show promises to be a tribute of sorts, showcasing their outstanding 57-year journey and uniting fans of rock and metal across all ages to witness one epic performance.

Considering Ozzy Osbourne’s health concerns along with the band’s decision to unite for one last time, this event is expected to be one of the most nostalgic moments in rock history.

Where and How to Watch the Final Black Sabbath Show

For ardent supporters who cannot make it in person, there are talks of the concert being streamed live across primary platforms.

However, no details have been confirmed yet.
