This week, the focus of Rami Malek’s activities is his role in the action movie sphere as he will be showing his new work “The Amateur” for the first time on April 11 (Fri) in US cinemas.

Malek’s comments on the matter at a gala in New York City were, “I never expected to go the action route in this business.”
“I had the chance to be in an action movie. It’s really funny that I’m able to do that, right?,” stated Malek to the interviewers.
Making the choice to play Heller was not accidental, feels Malek (43), who trusts that this is the role of his life. The actor goes on, describing the character as a person who may intellectual but not valued who after losing a loved one changes into a dignifying hero. “I can say that I have a lot in common with him,” Malek concluded.

The film “The Amateur” is decidedly about the life of a character of the name Charlie Heller who is a codebreaker of the highest caliber working for the CIA. When his wife becomes a victim of a bomb explosion initiated by terrorists, he first and only tries to get the agency to do something against the perpetrators. Malek’s character, a US Army psychiatrist, is assigned the task of examining the mental health of the Nazi prisoners to determine their fitness for the trial. The movie will also star Russell Crowe and Michael Shannon.
