4. Early September Payment: Another August Deposit?
Here’s something many people overlook.
Since September 1, 2025, falls on Labor Day (Monday) — a federal holiday — the Social Security Administration will once again send payments early.
So what happens?
If you receive SSI, your September check will be deposited on Friday, August 29, instead of waiting until the holiday passes. That means:
- Two deposits will land in your account during August
- But you will not receive a third check in September
This can catch some people off guard — they see two payments in one month and think they’re getting extra. But it’s just your regular September benefit arriving early due to the holiday.
Plan your budget wisely so you don’t overspend before the next deposit in October.
