Nathan Lane is providing us with an invigorating feeling of joy as we march into the latest Hulu series ‘Mid-Century Modern’ that is scheduled to be aired on March 28, 2025. Three of their best friends who, similar to the main characters on the TV show The Golden Girls, come together to reside at Palm Springs throughout the intervening three years following an unexpected death are the genre of the show.
A New Sitcom for a New Generation
In ‘Mid-Century Modern,’ Bunny Schneiderman (Lane) is a wealthy and successful businessman ready to retire, so he goes to the apartment of his two friends, portrayed by Matt Bomer and Nathan Lee Graham, after whose lives have changed. The program uses comedic elements, maintains compassion, and introduces the latest approach to aging, friendship, and re-chosen family.
The people behind the wheel of the show are Max Mutchnick and David Kohan, the creators of Will & Grace. As an executive producer, Ryan Murphy also contributes his own signature style to the project. The partners are helmed by James Burrows, the sitcom master who made Friends and Cheers to be the all-time greats.
Nathan Lane on Why ‘Mid-Century Modern’ is Special
Nathan Lane has been the butt of every comedy show’s jokes for as long as the audience is willing to remember. By proving the audiences that he is good both in the film and in the stage such as The Birdcage and Only Murders in the Building, he becomes one of the most iconic meat pies of the film industry in Hollywood. With ‘Mid-Century Modern’ that awaits him he is thrilled to grow in another part.
In a recent interview, Lane said, “This show is about friendship, laughter, and starting new chapters at any age. It’s rare to find a sitcom that celebrates life after 50 in such a funny and fresh way.”
The Last Performance of Linda Lavin
Also, the series is marking the last time that Linda Lavin, who plays Bunny’s mother, Sybil, will be seen on television. Lavin, who became famous for her role in Alice, died in December 2024. Her co-stars, including Lane, have said that it was a great pleasure for them to be able to work with her.
“Linda was a force of nature,” Lane said. “She brought so much wisdom and humor to this show. We are so grateful to have this performance as part of her great legacy.”
Excitement Builds for the Premiere
The fans have already been talking about the exciting trailer of ‘Mid-Century Modern’ which was released last week. Many are slating it as the next great comedy for Hulu and that it is up there with the classic ensemble sitcoms such as The Golden Girls and Will & Grace.
One fan tweeted, “Nathan Lane and Matt Bomer as best friends in a sitcom? Say no more. I’m watching.”
The critics also praised the theme. The program makes aging look anew in a comical way, showing life over 50 is still full of adventure, romance, and humor.
Nathan Lane’s Busy 2025
Next up of ‘Mid-Century Modern’ is one more project of Lane. Recently, he appeared in the 50th Anniversary Special of SNL, where he participated in a sketch that was Broadway-themed and was with John Mulaney. He also paid tribute to his late co-star Gene Hackman, sharing memories from their time working on The Birdcage.
With a robust cast, sharp writing, and a touching storyline, ‘Mid-Century Modern’ is going to be one of the most exciting Hulu new comedies. Nathan Lane, like in every job, presents the perfect balance of humor and heart and this is why it is a “must-watch” series.
If you are free, please make some space in your schedule on March 28th, 2025, and have a great time with Nathan Lane and the gang from the Mid-Century Modern!
