Design alterations to Apple’s iPhone 17 series are predicted to be quite dramatic. Recent leaks show that the iPhone 17 Pro models are thought to include a new camera bar, a redesigned Dynamic Island, and a more streamlined front display.

With Apple’s reputation for being one of the most innovative companies when it comes to designs, it is safe to assume that the’ 17 lineup will adhere to this set standard. The anticipation builds as one considers the new iPhone’s design, camera upgrades, and display changes.

iPhone 17 Pro Will Have a New Camera Bar

Apple is looking to enhance the camera bar on the iPhone 17 Pro models, which will have a new design.

One of the new changes leaks are hinting towards are the addition of a rectangular camera bar at the back of the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models. This bar is said to be different from previous ones due to the rounded edges and two tone finish that it will feature.

These are the expectations for the new camera layout: The three rear cameras will be on the left side of the camera bar and be arranged in a triangular layout. The LED flash, rear microphone and LiDAR scanner will be set vertically on the right side. The darker camera bar will have more of a subtle contrast to the rest of the phone’s body.

The shift in camera positioning on Apple devices may be related to the quality of the photograph taken as well as the alignment of the sensor. Besides other possibilities, it may also make the iPhone 17 Pro models look more sophisticated.

More Compact Dynamic Island Anticipated on iPhone 17 Pro Max

It has been rumored that Apple might reduce the size of Dynamic Island on the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The Dynamic Island was introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro and continued on the iPhone 15 as well as the iPhone 16 series.

Nonetheless, the iPhone 17 lineup is in for some significant alterations.

Reduction In The Size Of Front Camera Aperture – Apple is reportedly reducing the front camera parts, which makes it possible to lower the size of Dynamic Island. Increased Display Area – Lesser size of Dynamic Island would enable the users to have more display area. No Alteration In Standard Models – Some reports suggest that only the Pro Max model would have a lesser size of Dynamic Island, while other claim that the entire iPhone 17 series will have this alteration.

In pursuit of these rumors, some Apple analysts believe that the entire models will have the same Dynamic Island size and It will remain the same for each variant.

Apple Willing to Make iPhone 17 Sleeker and Lighter

Video Credit: x.com@appltrack

Apple is putting all its efforts into making the iPhone sleeker and lighter. In line with the trend, it is expected that iPhone 17 will have a more unified and sleek design in comparison with previous models.

Some sources state that Apple is looking into employing new materials that will allow Apple to cut the weight without compromising on structural integrity. The iPhone 17 Pro models may also have a slightly rounded shape like the iPhone 15 Pro.

Will All Models of iPhone 17 Have ProMotion Displays?

Since the release of iPhone 13 Pro, Apple has incorporated Pro Motion Technology (with refresh rates of 120Hz) into its Pro models. However, standard iPhone models have always had their displays limited to 60Hz.

There have been rumors circulating that it is possible for Apple to extend Pro Motion to the entire iPhone 17 models line which means that even base models will have 120Hz refresh rate displays.

That would result in smoother animations and scrolling, in addition to more lively gaming experience. If true, this would be the most significant enhancement for users who do not purchase the Pro models as it is astonishing.

Is Apple Planning to Raise the Price for iPhone 17 Pro?

It was suspected already that the iPhone 16 Pro models will already have a price dip and so it is reasonable to assume that the entire iPhone 17 lineup will be even pricier.

New Camera Technology, Pro Motion sensors, and AI features are improving ergonomics, but costing more to produce. If Apple’s 120Hz Pro feature is added to standard iPhones, costs will go up further leading to more expensive devices. It is also suggested that Apple will making iPhones thinner using new durable materials, which would make them stronger, but lighter at the same time.

With the increase in prices, major upgrades would be required to Apple devices to justify the increase in spending users will potentially do.

Expected iPhone 17 Release Date

Expect an announcement of the iPhone 17 series in September 2025, being that Apple’s usually releases new devices every September.

As scanned through the dates, pre-ordering should start in Mid September 2025 with the device being officially released late September.

These are hypothetical scenarios based on Apple’s more recent launches, anything is subject to change based off the company’s production deadlines.

Will the iPhone 17 Be a Game Changer?

A new redesigned camera system accompanied with a smaller dynamic island, along with Pro-Motion displays on all models are sure to make the new iPhone 17, especially the pro models, look a lot more appealing. Apple seems to be improving iPhone’s aesthetics along with its performance which is a plus.

The looming increase in price might prove costly for most buyers. An upgrade may make sense if Apple incorporates impressive new features.
