Actress Rachel McAdams is indeed parting ways with Los Angeles, and she is leaving a very beautiful $4 million midcentury modern home in the Los Feliz neighborhood which is now on sale.
It also means that she has shared ownership of the aforementioned property for more than a decade that she has listed her gated, very private house once lived in by her husband, screenwriter Jamie Linden with a still unannounced new owner. According to the source, her sale of the property also could mean that the Hollywood actress now is permanently living in the South with her family as she wants to stay out of the public eye.
A $4 Million Slice of LA Privacy
The four-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bathroom home provides almost all the luxurious things of Hollywood retreat. The Los Feliz property cost $1.67 million when it was bought in 2011, and now, it has undergone some significant changes through the years, being kept in good condition, besides high-level security measures, such as gating and surveillance cameras to ensure full security.
The center of the house is the perfect spot for some Southern California outdoor/indoor living experience. The huge living space is connected to the backyard. The dining area, on the other hand, is outdoors with a direct walk to the deck and is perfect for parties. The same room is also the outdoor lounge connected to a pool and a spa, which is made to be a peaceful place in the city, away from the noisy streets – all while giving the waterfall a chance to shine in sunlight.
Designed for Comfort and Hollywood Glamour
The home’s interior is a mix of competence and luxury. The kitchen, which is really great for cooking, has modern Viking appliances and a snug, comfortable, built-in breakfast nook. The master suite is seen to be facing the front and it has big bay windows. Besides the private bathroom that is fully equipped with spa facilities, there are custom-made walk-in closets.
But actually, the most eye-catching part of this building is down in the basement: a complete entertainment room with a modern fireplace, a kitchenette with a filled refrigerator, and a 120-inch projection screen that is invisible with a projector (a real home cinema feeling).
Why Rachel McAdams Changed Her Address
The sale is the result of McAdams continuing to accept and enjoy the retired life. In an interview with Bustle in 2023, Rachel McAdams disclosed how moving to the South of the US facilitated her to stay more with her two children and also enjoy the freedom to live as she wished when she was not acting.
She did not directly state where exactly she moved but what she said about the shift in lifestyle was very positive. Her moving really helped her to the essentials of life, such as riding bikes with her children through town and she said, “I think it sort of allowed me to come in from a different doorway.”
What Will McAdams Venture Into Next?
Even though she has chosen to step back from the busyness of life in Los Angeles, McAdams is not yet ready to fade out of the public eye completely. Without a break, she recently performed her first musical, Mary Jane, on the Broadway stage in 2024 and continues to lead a balanced life with a mix of projects and a loving approach to the family.
And as for the house that she’s saying goodbye to? It’s a limited, breathtaking opportunity to purchase a part of Hollywood history and be the owner of a modern, elegant, and multifunctional place that is not only great for entertainment but also for resting.
